Woman in wheelchair struck by car in Center City

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A person in a wheelchair was hit by a car in a busy part of Center City Philadelphia Monday afternoon.

It happened in the area of 11th and Market streets.

Authorities at the scene say the woman was trying to cross the street when she was knocked from her chair by a car.

The driver of that vehicle stayed at the scene.

The woman was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for treatment.

It's not clear how badly she was hurt.
