Woman struck, killed on I-295 in Gloucester Co.

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. -- A woman was struck and killed on Interstate 295 in Gloucester County on Tuesday evening.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Mantua Grove Road in West Deptford Township.

Police say the woman was trying to cross the lanes when she was struck.

The driver of the car that hit her did stop at the scene.

There was no word on the woman's identity.
