Airlines issue travel alerts as passengers scramble to beat snowstorm

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Several airlines have issued travel alerts ahead of Thursday's expected snowstorm, as travelers scramble to adjust their plans.

A number of airlines are allowing passengers to change their flights Wednesday without occurring any fees.

People are getting along just fine today, but tomorrow expect some trouble.

Many cities will be impacted by the snowstorm over the next few days.

Travel alerts were issued on Tuesday from many airlines.

A list of airlines posting travel alerts, and links to their respective websites, is posted below.

American Airlines' list of cities that may be affected, include airports in Philadelphia, Allentown and New York.

"Our travel alert currently covers 39 airports, including Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and allows customers whose travel plans are impacted to rebook without change fees through February 10th. Customers can reschedule their travel on aa.com by retrieving their reservation, or contact American reservations at 1-800-433-7300 in the U.S. or Canada. Customers are also urged to check the status of their flight on aa.com before heading to the airport," American Airlines said in a statement.

If you're traveling to or from one of the cities on American's list tomorrow, passengers will be able to change their ticket and the airline will waive the fees.

JetBlue, Southwest and Delta airlines have also issued similar travel advisories.
