Philadelphia-bound flight diverted back to Tampa, Florida

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia-bound flight from Tampa, Florida was turned around mid-flight and diverted back to Tampa Wednesday morning.

American Airlines Flight 782 took off at 6:18 a.m.

Officials say the Airbus A-320 experienced some kind of mechanical problem.

The flight was diverted back to Tampa International Airport and landed at 6:54 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

There was no immediate word on the nature of the mechanical issue.
