VIDEO: PPA kiosks fixed
Philadelphia Parking Authority officials say kiosks are once again accepting credit cards as a form of payment in addition to cash and coins.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Parking Authority officials say kiosks are once again accepting credit cards as a form of payment in addition to cash and coins.

Motorists are also able to pay for parking using the PPA's phone app "MeterUp."

Officials say a temporary problem with processing credit card payments has been corrected.

Before the problem was fixed, the parking authority was offering a 15-minute grace period for customers who received a parking ticket to get cash to pay at the kiosk.

Anyone issued a ticket within that grace period was also told to contact PPA customer service at sruiz@philapark.org or 1-888-591-3636.

"We want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this wireless transmission interruption," said PPA Executive Director Vince Fenerty.
