SEPTA fare collection changes
SEPTA fare collection changes: Tamala Edwards reports during Action News at 6:30 a.m. on July 10, 2017.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Changes are now in effect for some SEPTA rail users.

Passengers who travel from Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street, and University City stations Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., now have to have their tickets inspected and punched by Fare Collection personnel.

The change went into effect Monday.

The fare collectors will be positioned at the stairways to the train platforms.

Once tickets have been checked and punched, they have to be presented to the conductor on the train for collection.

The change requires passengers traveling from those stations during that time period to have a pre-paid ticket or pass before going onto the train platform.
