VIDEO: SEPTA slowly resumes service
The commute to and from work has been slow-going for people who rely on public transportation.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- SEPTA has restored much of its service following the Blizzard of 2016.

Still, agency officials say riders should allow extra time and understand that while service has been restored on many lines, passengers should expect delays as the system slowly returns to normal operations.

SEPTA said about 70% of bus service had returned by noon on Monday. All Regional Rail lines are running, though with many delays.

"Delays can be expected all day, and some trains are short cars," said SEPTA's general manager Jeffrey Knueppel.

With all of the snow over the weekend, passengers didn't expect the commute to be easy.

"I have to go to Suburban Station and walk five blocks up to 18th and Spring Garden. My walk usually takes 10 minutes, I don't know what it's going to take today," said Neil Young of Glenmoore, Pa.

Below is an update of SEPTA service as of 3:30 p.m. Monday:
