Amtrak and SEPTA passengers faced delays Wednesday morning because of weather-related issues.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Amtrak and SEPTA passengers faced delays Wednesday morning because of weather-related issues.

On Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, trains ran late this morning between Philadelphia and Washington.

Amtrak's Keystone Service between Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was temporarily suspended.

And service on SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail was suspended due to downed overhead wires between Strafford and Devon Stations.

Amtrak crews had to clear trees and power lines that were knocked onto the tracks during the storms.

The delays came after severe thunderstorms Tuesday night and early Wednesday downed trees and power lines.

Amtrak is now operating close to schedule.
