PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- A vehicle slammed into the back of an ambulance as medics were loading a patient on a stretcher in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

It happened around midnight Thursday on the 3600 block of Frankford Avenue.

One medic suffered a broken leg.

The patient is in stable condition.

The driver of the striking vehicle was treated at the scene.
