It was another relatively cool day, with the high in Philadelphia only hitting 80. That's six degrees below the average high for July 27. A few spotty downpours moved through this afternoon along a weak trough of low pressure.

TONIGHT: We have a few clouds around in the evening with general clearing overnight. The low dips to a comfortable 59 in Philadelphia with some suburbs hitting the low 50's.

WEDNESDAY: This is a fantastic June day with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and a high around 81, a great day for yard work or some fun time at the local playground.

THURSDAY: Sun mixes with more clouds and it gets warmer. Humidity may be a bit higher. The high is 88. A few spots could hit 90.

FRIDAY: We see intervals of clouds and sun with growing humidity. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. The high climbs to 92.

SATURDAY: Hot and humid conditions continue. Look for a clouds and sun mix with more spotty thunderstorms possible. The high is 92.

SUNDAY: This could be an active day for storms. We start out with a mix of clouds and sun. It's still hot and humid. With a cold front approaching, some strong thunderstorms are possible. The latest computer models show a stormy morning, with drying in the afternoon. We'll keep you posted! The high slips to 90. If we hit three straight days of 90 or better, it would mark the season's third heat wave.

MONDAY: We have partly sunny skies. It's slightly less humid. Another stray thunderstorm is possible if our departing front hangs up nearby. The high sits around 88.

TUESDAY: Look for partly sunny skies. It'll be hot with the chance of some pop-up thunderstorms. The high is around 90.
