PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --It certainly didn't feel like fall this week. All workweek long, five days straight, highs climbed into the 80's. Don't expect to see this kind of warmth until sometime late next spring!
TONIGHT: A strong approaching cold front has a line of showers and downpours that will reach Philadelphia in the evening hours.. As the front passes through, we will see a good 10 to 15 degree drop in temperatures. Behind the front, we'll see continued scattered showers will last through the night and into the first part of Saturday as an area of low pressure off the Northeast coastline really deepens and heads up into New England. The overnight low is 50.
SATURDAY: Showers linger in the morning (generally 1/4"-1/2" of rain in total. Expect clouds to last into the midday and early afternoon, but breaks of sun return by late afternoon up until sunset. Temperature on Saturday barely move. They will start near 50 in the morning and then only rise to 56 by afternoon. Winds will howl all day long with gusts 40 to 50 mph, threatening to bring down lots of leaves and small branches.
SUNDAY: We have a very nice fall day in store, although it remains windy with gusts to 30mph+. Expect mostly sunny skies with temps rebounding to around 64 in the afternoon. The winds could pose an issue for kickers at the Eagles game.
MONDAY: It's another mostly sunny day with a cool, seasonable high of 63.
TUESDAY: Look for plenty of sunshine again with a cooler high around 57.
WEDNESDAY: Sun gives way to increasing clouds, but we remain dry. The high is still cool: 57.
THURSDAY: Increasing clouds with some late showers. The high is 60.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with some showers. The high improves to 65.
