ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Hurricane Arthur continued to more northward on Thursday, but only a minimal impact is expected in the 6abc viewing area.
Action News meteorologist David Murphy says Arthur is expected to pass hundreds of miles to east of Atlantic City.
Some early rain is possible, especially along the coast on Friday, but sunshine will return in time for afternoon picnics and the weather looks dry for fireworks.
The main concern will be rip currents at the shore.
David's advice:
-Swim near lifeguard stands.
-If you find yourself being pulled out to sea, swim parallel to the beach, either north or south until you're out of the narrow current
-Then, proceed to shore
