UNIVERSITY CITY -- PennDOT has 180 crews working to help commuters get through the snowy Friday morning travel.

It began overnight as rain then turned to icy slush and now big flakes are falling down on the roadways in the city's University City section.

PennDOT has been ahead of the conditions. They began putting the brining solution on the roads.

This helps to make sure the snow does not stick to the road surface.

There are also plow trucks ready in case the snow begins to accumulate.

Drivers have mixed emotions when it comes to the snow.

"I'm tired of it," said Nick Cucinotta of South Philadelphia.

On the other hand, Freddie DiNardo of South Philadelphia says, "I love it, it's beautiful. I love the snow."

Motorists be prepared to take a little extra time this morning.

You will need time to brush off your cars as you head out.
