LAWRENCE, N.J. (WPVI) -- On Misty Morning Lane in Ewing this morning the Richter kids were playing with the last of the recent snow.

A small pile in front of the house sits inches away from spring flowers just starting to sprout - the perfect example of what's been happening weather-wise.

Tanya Richter says, "Oh my goodness. It's supposed to be really nice today, almost 70, and obviously supposed to rain. But then come Saturday it's supposed to be kind of cold again... It's like when is winter going to be over? I just don't know."

Carol Revilla says her marigolds and tulips are way behind this year the cold weather has lasted too long and delayed their growth.

She says one day of warm weather and rain isn't going to do the trick.

"My tulips - not coming up. They just aren't coming up like they usually do. I just want it to be over with and have my flowers come up," she said.

At the Oasis Garden Center on Federal City Road in Lawrence there are plenty of flowers. They're finally being moved outside so customers can come and shop.

Assistant manager Laurie Collins tells us, "We haven't been able to get our flowers out until just now because of the cold so we just got them in this week, just started up and running. And we're getting our Easter flowers ready to go."

General Manager Karen Campellone explains, "70's okay. But it's really the weekends when we are the busiest and that's supposed to get cold again. So we will be moving stuff in and out constantly. Hopefully this year after the long winter everybody will be ready to go and start planting stuff."

Garden centers are going to have to keep moving flowers back inside if temperatures continue to really dip this weekend like they're predicted to.
