Gov. Chris Christie declared a state of emergency for New Jersey ahead of the approaching snowstorm. (WPVI)

Governor Chris Christie has announced that, effective 6 p.m. Tuesday, the state of emergency for New Jersey declared will be lifted.

State offices will reopen at their regular time Wednesday morning and maintain normal operating hours.
