The rumble of thunder could be heard across most the area.
The rain caused diners to dash indoors, like on Wayne Avenue in Wayne.
In Wilmington, the ominous skies opened up, unleashing a drenching downpour on some unfortunate walkers, at 4th and Market.
Drivers on Mall Boulevard in King of Prussia had to keep the wipers on high tonight.
The storm also knocked out power to thousands.
