VIDEO: Ocean City deals with flooding
Ocean City residents, and some from Texas, are dealing with flooded roads.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Unexpected localized storms popped up and brought an estimated 4 to 5 inches of rain in 4 to 5 hours to Ocean City early Thursday morning.

While not unheard of, it's not exactly routine here.

Coming at high tide, the storm drains were full of bay water leaving the rainwater nowhere to go, but build up in the streets.

"We were going to go for a bike ride, but that's not going to happen today," Brandon Reitz of Maple Shade, New Jersey said.

For a while, a boogie board was better to get around in than a bicycle.

For vacationers, the intense rain meant a morning without sunshine.

By mid-day much of, but not all, of the water had receded.

There were no reports of injuries.

"We had a few stranded motorists who called in to the police department for assistance. I would imagine there were a few parked cars that were lost this morning just from the intensity of the rain, how quickly it fell," Frank Donato, Emergency Management Coordinator, said.
