Woman shot in leg in Chester

CHESTER (WPVI) -- A woman in her 70s was shot in the leg after she got off a bus in Chester, Delaware County.

It happened before 10 p.m. Friday on the 900 block of Lamokin Street.

The victim told police after she got off the bus, she was walking north when she heard shots fired, and then she felt a pain in her leg.

She continued to walk to her residence on the 900 block of Tilghman Street, and that's when she called 911.

Paramedics took her to Crozer Chester Hospital for treatment. She is listed in good condition.

Police say a short time later, a crime scene was located in the area of 7th and Lamokin streets.
