One person is dead and three others are injured after a head-on crash in Newark, Delaware.

The crash happened before 8 a.m. Tuesday on the stretch of Otts Chapel Road that passes over I-95.

Police tell Action News that a 93-year-old man was heading northbound when his Toyota hit the guardrail.

The impact sent his car into oncoming traffic, directly into the path of a Honda Civic.

A 51-year-old man from Maryland was riding in the front passenger seat, and he was killed.

The driver and a second passenger were hospitalized, along with the elderly driver of the Toyota.

Otts Chapel Road was shut down for more than three hours in both directions as police investigated and crews worked to clear the wrecked vehicles.

Police are still investigating, but so far no charges have been filed.
