ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Charges have been filed, and police say more are coming after a violent brawl between middle school students in Allentown.

The fight happened Thursday at Trexler Middle School.

The Lehigh County district attorney says at least ten 8th graders have been or will be arrested in the days ahead.

At least two teachers were injured trying to break up the fighting.

All those arrested Thursday will be handled in the county's juvenile justice system.

For a time Trexler Middle School was in complete lockdown.

The Allentown Public School District issued a statement Friday deploring the fighting, promising more security and full cooperation with police.

The local police brass refused to comment on this latest outbreak of school violence.

Last week four police officers were injured, two of them sustaining concussions, when at least 100 students fought in the neighborhood around William Allen High School.

Most of those busted were female students, including one now facing an aggravated assault charge.

Parents see a disturbing pattern in Allentown.

Trexler parent Carlos Rivera tells us, "That violent stuff, that's all played out. That ain't getting nowhere. Everybody's getting hurt behind all this."

With the weekend here, Allentown school officials hope there will be some soul searching, and the fights will be over.
