Dog rescued from icy NJ pond

PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. -- Dramatic video from Passiac County in North Jersey shows a firefighter crawling across an ice-covered pond to save a puppy drowning in the frigid water.

The 6-month-old German Sheppard got out of his yard.

The ice gave way, sending him into the water.

The rescuer had to go into the water to save the dog, but he was upset and began to bite the rescuers.

The dog eventually crawled out on his own.

Everyone is okay and the owner thanked those rescuers.
