A 16-year-old girl was shot and killed while riding in a minivan in Trenton, New Jersey.

TRENTON (WPVI) -- A teenager has been arrested in the shooting death of another teen in Trenton last week.

The 17-year-old boy has been charged in the murder of 16-year-old Ciony Kirkman, Mercy County authorities said Monday.

Authorities say Kirkman was shot in the head at Jersey Street and Home Avenue while in in a Ford Windstar minivan at approximately 6:25 p.m. on April 24.

The minivan had been reported stolen several days earlier.

Six other juveniles were in the minivan at the time.

Kirkman died of her injuries two days later.

The 17-year-old was arrested at a relative's house in Trenton by the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and taken into custody without incident.

He is charged with murder, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center.
