NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A lot of kids get to build a model space craft at some point in school, but most will never have it tested by a real astronaut.
Doctor Bernard Harris Junior, the first african american to walk in space, helped these lucky children make their own space landers.
And he put them to the test during a simulated planetary landing.
This is Doctor Harris' summer science camp at Temple University.
He has 10 camps nationwide, and he always gets some help from Exxon Mobil engineers.
