FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- The threat of Hermine kept a lot people away from the shore.

But there was still plenty to do this Labor Day Weekend, including the Made in American Festival.

"The hurricane was like coming, and we were all like nervous and stuff," said Jesse Sauder.

Jesse Sauder, 7, tells us they left Brigantine, New Jersey, Sunday morning, not sure how Hermine would hit.

"We were worried about flooding and power outages," said Jesse's mother.

Instead, they made the most of the holiday weekend in the city, with a tailgate.

"Hanging out with friends. hanging out in the neighborhood," said Jesse's mother.

A few blocks away, thousands of people packed the Parkway for the Made in America concert.

"It's my fourth year. It's always a good time," said Aaron Martel from Boston, Massachusetts.

"I was debating coming back this year, but it's been great," said Shema Turner from Atlanta, Georgia.

And from the street to swinging up in the air, most say the weather couldn't have been better.

"It's not too hot, not too cold, not raining. I thought the hurricane was going to hit us, but it didn't," said Kristen Cusak from Rochester, New York.

"We're so happy. It's been a great Labor Day Weekend," said Kristyn Cherry from Atlanta, Georgia.
