Man killed after motorcycle, SUV collide in Northeast Philadelphia

A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Northeast Philadelphia.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Northeast Philadelphia.

Chopper 6 was over Grant Avenue near Academy Road shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

Police say a motorcycle and SUV collided at that location.

The male victim was rushed to Aria-Torresdale Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

A woman riding with him is in critical condition at Aria-Torresdale.

No one in the SUV was injured.

A stretch of roadway was temporarily shut down for an accident investigation.
