LOWER MERION, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia tow truck driver has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash that killed a man in Lower Merion Township earlier this month.

44-year-old Farran Haynes has been charged with Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury, Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Forgery and Operating with Unsafe Equipment.

Police say Haynes was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram 5550 flatbed tow truck, owned by Bala Motor Sports, when he struck 72-year-old Huiquing Jiang on Righters Mills Road around 6:40 p.m. on December 2.

Jiang was found by police unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at Lankenua Hospital.

Police say Haynes did not stop at the scene and later attempted to conceal the damage to the truck.

Additionally, police say Haynes had operated the truck that day in excess of federal regulations and was found to have altered a Commercial Medical Certificate.

Bail has been set at $25,000.
