LINDENWOLD, N.J. (WPVI) -- PATCO service returned to normal Thursday afternoon after a piece of construction equipment derailed, shutting down express service and limiting local trains.

The agency announced though its Twitter account early Thursday afternoon that normal east- and westbound schedules would resume at 2 p.m.

The derailment incident happened overnight west of Lindenwold Station.

Action News is told crews were performing maintenance work on a track.

A crane they were using derailed on its way back to the station.

Express service was suspended all morning.

Local trains were running on an emergency schedule, every 15-20 minutes.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
