NEWARK, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested after he stole a car and crashed it into a fence outside a Newark police station.

Police say the teen took the car after a woman left the engine running while at a gas station shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. They say he lost control of the car and struck the fence of the 5th Precinct police station.

Officers arrested the teen after he fled and was spotted on foot.
