Police investigating homicide in Newark

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a woman's death in Newark, Delaware as a homicide.

Officers responded to a call around 11:45 p.m. Friday along the unit block of Westfield Drive for a wellness check.

Upon entry into the home, police found the body of a woman who suffered significant injuries.

The incident remains under investigation, but appears to be isolated with no threat to the safety of the surrounding community or the involvement of University of Delaware students.

The victim's ID is being withheld until family can be notified.

No arrests have been made.
