WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- The first production brewery in Wilmington in 60 years is now under construction.

Wilmington Brew Works is set to open in Spring of next year.

It's being built on the site of the old Harper Thiel Electroplating Company, which has been vacant since 2000.

The owner of the new Brew Works says it will offer the IPA's and craft lagers.

The brewery's specialty beverages will be its wood-fermented, wood-aged sour beers.

"In contrast to a brew pub, we don't focus on food, our sole focus is the quality and production of our beer," says Wilmington Brew Works owner, Craig Wensell.

The brewery hopes to add a restaurant or food hall on the other end of the building.

It is currently looking for that tenant.
