SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday evening by a SEPTA train in Southwest Philadelphia.

Transit officials say the man stepped into the path of an outbound airport line train around 6:15 p.m. near the 9000 block of Bartram Avenue.

Service was suspended for several hours during the police investigation.
