Saving: Grabbing big deals before Black Friday

Do you think Black Friday is the best day to grab the best holiday deals? You might rethink that... at least in some cases.

Personal finance expert Vera Gibbons says you can already snag some of the best deals RIGHT NOW, especially when it comes to toys.

She says for the hottest ones in high demand, you can get them at the best prices you will see all season at this very minute on websites like amazon.com.

According to data from last year, retailers' biggest price cuts last year came on the Monday before Thanksgiving. So heads up for this Monday coming up.

And as for online shopping, Thanksgiving Day offers some of the best prices.

But the best day for apparel is Cyber Monday - that's the Monday after Thanksgiving - that's the day for that.

Gibbons says there are often store wide discounts where you can take

30% - 40% off everything.

Here's where you WILL want to wait for Black Friday: electronics, gadgets, tablets, TV, video games and consoles. The Friday after Thanksgiving still offers the best prices on those items... that's providing they are still in stock.
