Pedestrian struck by car in Mill Creek, Delaware

MILL CREEK, Del. (WPVI) -- A pedestrian was struck while crossing the street in Mill Creek, Delaware.

It happened around 10:16 p.m. Tuesday on Kirkwood Highway.

Police say the pedestrian, who was struck by a Toyota Prius, was wearing dark clothing and was not in a designated crosswalk at the time.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the striking vehicle, who was not harmed, did stop at the scene.

Police are investigating the accident.
