Local bakeries serve up treats for Fastnacht Day

Bakers across the region will be firing up their fryers this morning to roll out traditional Pennsylvania Dutch treats known as Fastnachts Tuesday.

The sweet treats are similar to donuts, made of lard, sugar, flour and butter.

They are traditionally eaten the day before Lent begins.
