Life of Washington Township athlete remembered
TEEN ATHLETE REMEMBERED: Austin loved football, so his family created a charity tournament to honor his memory.

PITMAN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Austin Muckenfuss would be thrilled to know his friends and family play his favorite sport in his memory.

The 14-year-old Washington Township athlete was killed crossing the street in 2015. Today, his loved ones took to the field for the third annual "Run AMUCK Flag Football Charity Tournament."

Teams consisting of students to grown adults came together to celebrate Austin's life and raise funds for a scholarship in his name.

His parents say the scholarship is aimed at benefiting students at Washington Township High School who have overcome hardship, just as their son struggled with a reading disability. The goal is to branch out to even more schools in the area.

All the fun happened at Total Turf Experience in Pitman, NJ, which kindly donated their facility for this event.
