Officials: Gas leak shuts down East Main Street in Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- A gas leak caused traffic trouble in Newark late Monday afternoon.

DelDOT says a contractor struck a gas line while repaving East Main Street about 3 p.m.

The road was shut down between Library Avenue and Chapel Street for more than two hours.

The leak is now contained and East Main Street has reopened to drivers.
