Drivers stranded, trees topple during severe weather in Delaware Valley
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Severe weather brought down trees and flooded roadways across in the region on Wednesday.
"I've never seen it overflow like it did today," said Megan Pucillo.
She's one of nearly two dozen Havertown residents drying out from flash floods after the creek behind their house rose so high their basements flooded.
The 2500 block of Wynnewood became a raging river.

At the height of the storm, first responders estimate this area had three feet of water.
"The fire department shut off about 23 gas services, we knocked on every door and evacuated some houses. Most people opted to shelter in place," said Chief John Viola, who also heads emergency management.
In Broomall, an Action News viewer recorded first responders rescuing a woman trapped in her car from rising flood waters.
At the Giant grocery store on Springfield Road, a sinkhole nearly swallowed a mini van in the parking lot during the torrential downpour.
In Wynnefield Heights, Philadelphia police's marine unit waded through knee deep water after a U-Haul got stuck trying to forge through.
In Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, Samantha Drach captured a massive tree toppling in her yard.
No injuries have been reported.
The severe weather also caused some issues for those using SEPTA's Regional Rail Line.
The storm knocked out service or caused major delays to nine train routes leaving passengers stranded.
The Media Elwyn Line was suspended for some time because rain flooded the tracks.
SEPTA says all lines will be back up and running back for morning commute.
