Man shot during attempted robbery in Kensington

Philadelphia police are searching for three suspects who they say shot a man in the leg during attempted robbery in the city's Kensington section.

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for three suspects who they say shot a man in the leg during attempted robbery in the city's Kensington section.

Police say the 31 year-old male victim was walking on the 3100 block of Jasper Street at 10 p.m. when he was approached by three men.

One suspect, who was armed with a handgun, demanded money.

When the victim tried to run away, the suspect fired one shot, striking the man in the left leg.

The trio then fled the scene in a silver Pontiac Aztec SUV.

The victim was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition.

No items were taken during this incident.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male with a stocky build and beard. He was wearing an Army style cap, black leather jacket, dark pants, and black boots.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and beard. He was wearing glasses, light colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black & white sneakers.

The third suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion and beard. He was wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with an emblem on the front, dark pants and shiny sneakers.
