WAYNE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A 61-year-old Main Line woman has been arrested for selling heroin, the Tredyffrin Township Police Department said Wednesday.

Lynne Twaddle of the 800 block of Pugh Road in Wayne was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance, Criminal Use of a Communications Facility, and related offenses.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Tredyffrin Township police and Chester County Municipal Drug Task Force members arrested Twaddle at her home where she lives with her husband after a four month long investigation.

Police were tipped off to illegal distribution of drugs and initiated an undercover investigation, leading to securing approximately 250 baggies of the drug.

On at least four prior occasions, police had contact with Twaddle at her residence and walked with heroin each time.

Detective Sergeant Todd Bereda from the Tredyffrin Township Police Department says this case is truly a sign of the times.

"It's just now with the change in society, we're seeing a burgeoning amount of oxycodone and opiate use, it starts with pills and ends up with heroin," Bereda said.

At the time of her arrest, a search warrant was served and at least 80 more bags of heroin were recovered along with a pistol.

Sergeant Beretta says the story should serve as a cautionary tale.

"Even in the Main Line suburbs, we have the creep of heroin use, abuse, and distribution," Beretta said.

Twaddle was arraigned and bail was set at $50,000 cash.

She was jailed at the Chester County Prison in lieu of posting bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 31st.
