Bar owner robbed by 2 men in Brewerytown

Philadelphia police are searching for a pair of suspects who robbed a bar owner in the city's Brewerytown section early Saturday morning.

BREWERYTOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a pair of suspects who robbed a bar owner in the city's Brewerytown section early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the owner of the Tropicana Bar on the 2800 block of West Oxford Street was walking to his car at 2:30 a.m. when he was suddenly approached by two unknown men.

One suspect removed an object from his pants and placed it against the man's back.

The pair then stole the owner's cell phone and cash before shoving him to the ground.

They fled east on Oxford Avenue.

Police were able to recover surveillance video of the suspects prior to the robbery.

The first suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid 20s with a goatee. He was wearing a white t-shirt.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid 20s with a beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt.
