FBI, police search for bank robber in South Philadelphia

Police and the FBI are searching for a suspect who robbed a Citizen's Bank in South Philadelphia.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police and the FBI are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank in South Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery occurred inside the Citizen's Bank branch on the 2500 block of South 24th Street.

Police say the unknown male suspect walked into the bank shortly after 1 p.m. and handed a demand note to the teller.

He took an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the bank in an unknown diretion.

The subject is described as a black male in his mid-20s to mid-30s, average height and build, short hair and a medium to dark complexion. He wore blue jeans shorts, a white shirt with red long sleeves and "NIKE AIR" and the "swoosh" logo on the front, and high-top sneakers or work boots.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous.

There may be a reward for information leading to the suspect's capture.
