Scholarships despite budget stalemate

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A new scholarship season is now underway in Center City.

The Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia launched its annual event Wednesday at the National Constitution Center.

Dozens of families came out to apply for one of two thousand K through 8 scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.

Officials also encouraged parents to take action and demand answers from lawmakers and Governor Wolf, amid the ongoing budget stalemate.
