Man, 80, hurt in crash with pickup truck in North Wilmington

NORTH WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- One person has been hospitalized after a crash in North Wilmington.

It happened at 11:12 a.m. Thursday at Philadelphia Pike and Edgemoor Road.

Police say paramedics arrived to find a sedan that had collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

They treated an 80-year-old man, who was driving the sedan, for a head injury, then took him to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, Del. in serious condtion.

Two people were in the pickup truck. Neither was hurt.

Philadelphia Pike was closed at the scene for almost two hours as police investigated and crews worked to clear the wrecked vehicles.
