Woman walking with children struck by car

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A woman was hit by a car in Philadelphia's Kensington section.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday along Lehigh Avenue near A Street.

Officials say the woman was walking with two young children when she was struck.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Temple University Hospital.

She is expected to survive.

The children were not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
