WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- 25 high school students who love playing ice hockey, will now be able to attend West Chester University for free, thanks to a special scholarship program, announced Friday.
Two checks totaling 500 thousand dollars were presented to the University, on behalf of the Ed Snider Youth hockey foundation, and the "give something back" foundation, which is a a national charity.

Students who participated in the hockey program can apply for the scholarships, starting spring 2017.
The Youth Hockey foundation was created by the late Philadelphia flyers chairman, Ed Snider, who died in April 2016.
