2 men stabbed at Philadelphia train stations, including 30th Street Station

Police say the victim at 30th Street Station was stabbed two times in the chest.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating two stabbings at train stations including 30th Street Station.

According to officials, a 41-year-old maintenance worker was stabbed inside a bathroom at 30th Street Station in Center City.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. Monday.

Police said the worker saw the suspect inside the bathroom and told him to exit and take his belongings with him.

The suspect stabbed the worker twice in the chest before leaving the bathroom, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.



The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested near Schuylkill Avenue and 30th Street. Police said the 39-year-old is facing attempted murder, aggravated assaults and related charges.

Just after 2 a.m. Monday, police say a 64-year-old man was stabbed and robbed while sleeping on a bench outside the Arrott Transportation Center in Frankford.

Police believe the victim is homeless.

Following the attack, the suspect ran off with the victim's backpack.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
