Pregnant woman killed, multiple others hurt after being hit by car near Lower Merion cemetery

Police said a physical altercation ensued following the crash.

LOWER MERION TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Multiple people were injured and a pregnant woman and her unborn baby died after being hit by a car in Lower Merion, Montgomery County on Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at Bryn Mawr Avenue and West Rock Hill Road.

Police said the vehicle struck two parked cars and five pedestrians near a cemetery.

A 36-year-old woman and her unborn child died at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the crash, police said.

The four other pedestrians were being treated for their injuries at an area hospital.

Police said a physical altercation ensued following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
