DREXEL HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County teacher is getting national recognition for her work in the classroom.

The Action Cam was at Saint Bernadette School in Drexel Hill for the big announcement.

Students cheered as Lisa Carney was handed the Federal Bar Association's Excellence in Civics Education award.

Mrs. Carney, a fourth grade teacher, is only one of 15 recipients across the country.

A number of people took time Tuesday to explain the lasting impact Mrs. Carney has had in the classroom.
