Parts of Delaware County, Wilmington under boil water advisory

BETHEL TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- A boil water advisory is in effect for Veolia water customers in parts of Delaware County and Delaware due to a water main break.

The advisory is for customers in areas of North Wilmington, Chadds Ford, Bethel Township and Concord Township.

Customers in the affected areas should boil their water until further notice.

Veolia says a contractor working at Naamans Creek Road and Route 202 damaged a water main resulting in the break.

"Veolia water quality professionals have begun the process of collecting water quality samples, the testing process can take a minimum of 72 hours," the utility said.

The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.
