Philadelphia DA Seth Williams' attorney files motion to withdraw

Sunday, March 26, 2017
CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Action News has learned that the attorney for embattled District Attorney Seth Williams has filed a motion to withdraw from the case.

But a judge denied that motion, keeping Michael Diamondstein on the job.

Diamondstein maintained Williams cannot afford his services, and said since Williams is not stepping down, it would be a conflict of interest to represent a sitting DA.

Williams is facing charges of bribery and extortion.

He has pleaded not guilty.
